Hello,
Nice to meet you. Through this intro, we hope you get to know us a little better and start to feel comfortable with us. We're glad you're here.

First, a little philosophical musing so you get a sense of who we are.
Our “educated” guess is that you're a small-business owner, an entrepreneur, a nonprofit, or one of countless others who must do marketing on a shoestring. And you're looking for information — common-sense, easy-to-digest information based on experience and expertise.
Information is what the Internet is all about, and there's lots of it. We've seen many, many marketing-related sites on the Internet, and have been both impressed and disappointed. Very few sites are content driven to any great extent. Usually there is some general information followed quickly by the call (scream?) to action to immediately buy the product.
And yes, we have InfoProducts for sale too — that's our business. But we know that we can't get your sale until we get your trust — trust that we know what we're talking about, that we've done it ourselves, and that we're willing to share much of it with you — for free.
We wanted to offer you a site that was content-rich for three reasons:
Our concept is simple: Make marketing simple enough that the do-it-yourselfer can understand it, but be honest that it's not a quick fix, a panacea or an easy task. Marketing is a forever thing for businesses.
We really do believe that your success is our success. Word-of-mouth referrals only come through credible sources, and you are ours.
If you're looking for our credentials based on academic degrees, we've got some of those, too: Bachelor's in Journalism (emphasis on Mass Communications) for Valeria; Bachelor's in Economics and a two-year Electronics Technology stint for John.
I've been in the marketing/pr arena for 20+ years, starting out as a reporter during and after college, and then moving into the public relations sector for large corporations and nonprofits. That provided a plethora of experiences and challenges that required creativity and long-range thinking.
After leaving corporate America in 1994, I hung up my own marketing shingle — and that's when the fun began. Helping small businesses, home businesses, organizations, nonprofits and entrepreneurs gain visibility was indeed fun, on many levels.
Applying this theory paid off for my clients. Here are a few examples:
To me, helping small businesses succeed with creative ideas and solutions
is better than butter pecan ice cream.
Almost.
John's meticulous attention to detail and his ability to put himself in the shoes (eyes?) of the Internet visitor puts him light years ahead of most Webmasters.
He devours anything written or said about the Internet, and in doing so, is in the forefront when it comes to Internet trends.
Long before the Internet “gurus” declared common sense and simplicity to be the general guide for Web designs, John had already dismissed the bells, whistles, flashes and gimmicks as distracting to visitors. He doesn't discount that animated graphics may be appropriate for some very informal or “fun” sites, but even then, they have to stop after a few seconds. (Let's have an amen to that!)
Always with an eye to the changing tastes and types of Web visitors, John chooses the route of usability over his own convenience. Sure, he could build a site faster, but its effectiveness would not meet his — or the client's or visitor's — standards.
For example, John's concern for usability led him to design techniques that allow our vision-impaired visitors to enlarge the content type. And, by not using tables as a design element, vision-impaired people can use reader technology to translate the content more easily.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know us. We hope you'll visit us often and recommend us to others who could use a marketing idea or two to boost their businesses. We'd like to be of help.
And we'd also like your feedback. Tell us what you like and where we can improve. It's through your constructive criticism that we can get better and offer a more valuable Web site, one that helps you grow and succeed in today's tough — and exciting — business climate.
